Proof there's no compromise for quality
Quality craftsmanship may not always be apparent to the naked eye... but its absence is often conspicuous.
For Dr. Scott Cowan and his wife Janine Idelson, a leaking roof on a previously built dining room addition reaffirmed the need to hire a master designer/builder. Familiar with work that Barron & Jacobs performed on one of his colleague's homes, Scott called us for advice.
In addition to repairing the roof, Scott and Janine were looking to update the existing bathrooms and expand the existing master bedroom while adding individual walk-in closets and a master bath. They also wanted a professional home work space. In a short time, we had plans ready for their review.
Because of the leaking roof on the previous addition, Dr. Cowen and Janine were understandably cautious regarding moving forward. Scott explained, "We loved the plans Barron & Jacobs did for us, but to be absolutely sure I shared them with my college roommate, who is an architect. His reply was 'Perfect- I wouldn't change a thing.'
Dr. Cowen and Janine's wishes were granted through an efficient design that added a second story over the dining room. Part of the existing master bedroom was expanded into the new addition, allowing for the addition of new closets and home offices. An exterior mahogany balcony with spiral stairs leading to their pool area added a convenient finishing touch.
